REVIEW: Kaczor Family Reunion

It seems rather odd to post this as a "REVIEW", but in keeping with the style I've been using throughout the rest of my blog I'll stick with it (though I'll only discuss the actual party).

Well to start, I definitely had a great time at the party. There were lots of cousins to see (or meet in some cases), Aunts and Uncles to hug, and a good deal of alcohol to make things even more enjoyable. Horseshoes turned out to be one of the highlights of the party, with some great games being played. Also, I showed off my limbo prowess, coming in as the best person over 4 feet tall (if I had a Red Stripe in hand I would have taken the whole thing, but alas). T and I ended up going back to the hotel instead of camping out (we didn't have tents after all), and due to my lack of sleep on the flight over (I was up for 41 hours straight) that ended up being a fairly smart choice.

It was good seeing everyone; We need to throw these parties more often :D.

Women On The Brain

I have a very active mind. Actually it's more accurate to say that I have a very OVERactive mind. From insomnia, to problems being around people I'm not familiar with, it's caused me a fair amount of difficulty in my life. But no where has it caused me more problems than in dealing with women; well those I like anyways.

See, my mind likes to over analyze my actions around women I like, create crazy scenarios of things that might happen (and we're talking about dozens upon dozens here) and generally make me very nervous around them.

Why do I bring this up? Because I met a girl I'm attracted to and I'm forcing my brain to lay off the crack. I want to be relaxed and actually enjoy being out with her and "possibly" start a relationship. Who knows exactly how things will turn out in the long run, but they'll definitely be better.

Overnight "Cattle" Express

I seriously hate red-eye flights... they're nearly a guarentee that I get no sleep for the day. First off, airline seats are designed for people under 5'6" tall and as wide as an anorexic cheerleader. As I'm WAY out of that size range (which is partially my fault for being a fatty), I have zero room to begin with. Then of course I get seated next to another "decent sized" male passenger and it's a recipe for a brutally uncomfortable flight.

Second off, my insomniatic mind requires very specific conditions for me to be able to fall asleep (note that I said fall asleep, not pass out from exhaustion), and these will never be met on your standard airline flight.

So what does that leave me? Five hours of trying to at least rest my eyes, continually trying to find some position that doesn't kill my back, and looping a track on my iPod to try and shut my conscious mind down.

At least there's a triple shot carmel macchiato waiting at the end!

EVENT: Kaczor Family Reunion

The clan is getting together to celebrate Steven's wedding and just to see how we've all been doing. It'll be grand times in New York (the temps don't look too bad even with the humidity, plus I'll be more used to the heat... thank you Cali), and I'll see the parents and T for the first time since I moved down (though I did see the Old Guy on one of his business trips). I'm looking forward to seeing all of the cousins.

Buying Pot(s)

Picked up some shiney new pots yesterday from Crate & Barrel. They had the best deal on the All-Clad Master Chef 2 Series of pots so I picked up a set. They're nice and pretty... maybe now I'll actually be able to make food at my apartment; oh, wait I forgot to get... and the list of things to buy grows on!
